Nearly 99% of the world's international internet traffic travels through submarine fiber-optic cables laid across the ocean floor. Every WhatsApp message, Google search, online payment, video call, cloud service, and international business transaction depends largely on these invisible underwater highways.India is connected to the global internet through 17 international submarine cable systems.
