Srinagar, July 21, July 22 -- Social Welfare Department (SWD), SANKALP-HEW, Srinagar organized a one-day awareness programme on Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (Prohibition of Sex Selection) Act, 1994 (PC&PNDT Act) for teachers of Government and Private educational institutions. The programme, held at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Kothi Bagh, Srinagar, was aimed at sensitizing teachers about the objectives and provisions of the PC&PNDT Act and highlighting their vital role in promoting gender equality, protecting the rights of the girl child, and creating awareness against sex selection and female foeticide.
