Srinagar, Oct 27, Oct. 28 -- In a significant breakthrough, Srinagar Police has successfully cracked a major theft case in Khanyar, arresting two accused and recovering stolen gold ornaments worth approximately Rs.45 lakh. On October 25, 2026, Police Station Khanyar received a complaint from Basharat Hussain, son of Gh. Qadir Gulzar, resident of Miskeen Bagh, Srinagar, regarding the theft of valuable gold ornaments from his residence. Acting promptly, FIR No. 68/2026 under Section 306 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered at Police Station Khanyar, and investigation was immediately initiated.
