Srinagar, October 16, Oct. 16 -- Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo on Friday said the district administration has completed the installation of safety fencing on a bridge over the River Jhelum to prevent accidental falls and suicide attempts. Speaking to reporters during a visit to the site, Labroo said the initiative followed concerns raised by police and local residents over the absence of adequate protective barriers, which posed safety risks and left the bridge vulnerable to incidents of people jumping into the river.
