Srinagar, June 17, June 18 -- Amid recurring debates over regional imbalance in Jammu and Kashmir, the selection of outstanding sportspersons for government jobs has produced a near-proportionate regional distribution, with around 55 per cent of the selected candidates belonging to Jammu Division and 45 per cent to Kashmir Division. Officials say the outcome emerged through a merit-based recruitment process and reflects the growing sports culture and expanding opportunities for youth across both regions. According to official sources, the recruitment was conducted under S.O.-12 of 2022 read with S.O.-412 of 2023 through a transparent and merit-based process.
