Srinagar, Nov 2, Nov. 3 -- The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) on Monday suspended two officials over dereliction of duty, ordering a departmental inquiry into the supervision and monitoring of unauthorised constructions. According to separate orders issued by SMC Commissioner Dr Basharat Qayoom, Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, In-Charge Ward Officer, and Jameel Mohammad Sheikh, Senior Building Inspector (In-Charge Ward Officer), have been placed under suspension with immediate effect.As per Order No. 1282 of 2026, Ghulam Hassan Sheikh has been suspended pending an inquiry into allegations of dereliction of duty.The Commissioner has directed Joint Commissioner (Administration) Nuzhat Khurshid Qureshi, JKAS, to conduct an in-depth inquiry into ...
