Rs.2.08 Crore contraband seized in joint ops
Aizawl/Guwahati, Sept. 10 -- In a major crackdown on illicit trafficking, Assam Rifles and Indian Army formations under the Spear Corps, in coordination with state police, conducted targeted joint operations in Mizoram and Assam, leading to the seizure of contraband worth over Rs.2 crore. In Mizoram's Champhai district, joint teams recovered 12,000 kg of areca nuts valued at approximately Rs.1.32 crore during an operation along the Zote-Hmunhmeltha Road.
