Raksha Bandhan strengthens army-citizen bond in Manipur
Kakching, Aug 28, Aug. 29 -- Assam Rifles celebrated Raksha Bandhan at Pallel Garrison in Kakching district of Manipur on August 27, reinforcing the enduring bond of affection, respect and camaraderie between the Armed Forces and local communities. The celebration brought together 179 participants, including 135 Assam Rifles personnel, 30 students of Assam Rifles Public School (ARPS), 10 local Meira Paibis and four women representatives of the Mumbai-based NGO Matri Bhoomi Ke Rakshak Foundation.As part of the programme, rakhis were tied to Assam Rifles personnel in a gesture symbolising the traditional bond of protection, trust and affection.
