Srinagar, Sept. 30 -- The 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly has once again brought the familiar India-Pakistan divide into sharp focus. The session opened on September 8, 2026, while the General Debate began on September 22 and continued through September 26, with an additional sitting on September 28. The official theme-"Restoring Trust, Managing Transformation: A United Nations That Delivers for All"-comes at a time when the international community is confronting wars, terrorism, economic uncertainty, climate challenges and geopolitical tensions.
