Srinagar, Sept. 1 -- Nepal is facing one of its worst natural disasters in recent years as rescue teams continue searching remote Himalayan valleys and flood-hit hydropower projects nearly a week after catastrophic floods and landslides swept across northern and central parts of the country. At least 987 people have died in Nepal, while 3,916 people remain missing, according to the latest figures available on Tuesday. The disaster has also affected parts of China's Tibet region, taking the combined death toll from the floods above 1,000.
