Udhampur, August 17, Aug. 17 -- A major landslide disrupted traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) near Darmathal-Dewal in the Udhampur-Chenani sector on Monday, affecting movement, particularly on the Srinagar-bound upper tube. Heavy mud, rocks and debris fell onto the highway, blocking traffic along the important route and prompting authorities to regulate vehicular movement at multiple points. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), along with local teams, deployed machinery and personnel to clear the debris and restore traffic on the affected stretch.
