Kashmir experiences spring-like weather after fresh rainfall
Srinagar, June 14 -- Fresh rainfall across Kashmir on Saturday brought down daytime temperatures, giving the Valley an unusual early spring-like feel in mid-June. Srinagar recorded a maximum temperature of 23.8degC, nearly 4degC below normal, while tourist destinations Gulmarg and Pahalgam also remained significantly cooler than usual. Pahalgam received 13 mm rainfall, contributing to the dip in temperatures.Despite cooler days, night temperatures stayed slightly above normal in several areas. The Meteorological Department has forecast intermittent rain and thunderstorms across Jammu and Kashmir over the next few days.Chief Minister Omar Abdullah noted the unusual weather, saying Srinagar felt more like early April than mid-June.
