Srinagar, April 12, April 13 -- Incessant rains have caused visible damage to the embankment along the Jhelum River near the General Post Office bund in Srinagar, with cracks appearing on the riverbank and portions of the structure collapsing into the water, locals said. The damage, reported after continuous rainfall in the valley, includes cracks along the embankment surface, displacement of concrete sections, and damage to public benches installed along the bund.
