J&K targets Rs.2,000 Cr textile exports by 2030
Srinagar, Sep 17, Sept. 18 -- Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo on Wednesday reviewed the newly framed Action Plan for Promotion of Exports of Handicrafts and Handloom Products, targeting an increase in Jammu and Kashmir's textile and apparel exports from the present Rs.800 crore to Rs.2,000 crore by 2030. The meeting, attended by senior officers from the Industries & Commerce Department, Handicrafts & Handloom, J&K Handicrafts Corporation, Indian Institute of Carpet Technology (IICT), NIFT and other concerned institutions, focused on strengthening the export ecosystem and improving the global reach of J&K's traditional crafts.Dulloo directed the department to undertake a comprehensive assessment of the sector's strengths, competitive advantage...
