Srinagar, Sep 19, Sept. 20 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Government has given Urban Local Bodies six months to prepare area-specific Parking Area Management Plans under the J&K Parking Rules, 2026, notified recently. The new framework covers designated parking, digital fee collection, enforcement and technology-based monitoring across municipal areas.Municipal Corporations, Councils and Committees have been directed to prepare parking plans in coordination with agencies controlling land parcels where public parking facilities are located, including hospitals, universities, shopping centres and other major establishments.Parking fees and violation charges will be collected through cashless mechanisms.
