Srinagar, Oct 21, Oct. 21 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Government has formally approved an increase in the monthly stipend for MBBS and BDS interns from Rs 12,300 to Rs 25,000, addressing their long-pending demand for enhanced remuneration. The Health and Medical Education Department issued Government Order No. 747-JK(HME) of 2026 on October 21, sanctioning the revised stipend for MBBS and BDS interns, including Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs), across the Union Territory. As per the order, the enhanced stipend will be effective from October 1, 2026. Eligible interns will therefore receive the revised amount retrospectively from the beginning of the month.
