Srinagar, Sep 23, Sept. 23 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet on Wednesday approved several legislative and administrative proposals, including measures concerning decriminalization of minor offences, regulation of water resources and residential land leases. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. The Cabinet approved the Jammu and Kashmir Jan Vishwas Third Amendment of Provisions Bill, 2026. The proposed legislation seeks to decriminalize 21 minor offences and replace specified criminal penalties with monetary fines.
