Srinagar, Sep 24, Sept. 24 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Thursday passed a resolution seeking exemption from the Teacher Eligibility Test requirement for teachers appointed before October 31, 2019. The resolution calls for changes to the relevant provisions of the Right to Education framework to provide relief to teachers appointed before the specified cutoff date. The House urged the Union Government to consider amending the applicable provisions to resolve the issue faced by teachers appointed before October 31, 2019. The move seeks to address the TET requirement for teachers who were appointed before the specified date under the prevailing legal framework.
