J&K achieves fully literate UT status under ULLAS-NBSK: Itoo
Srinagar, Sept 4, Sept. 5 -- Jammu and Kashmir has achieved the status of a Fully Literate Union Territory, with Education Minister Sakeena Itoo announcing a literacy rate of 98.43 percent under the ULLAS, NBSK programme. Itoo described the achievement as a historic milestone and credited teachers, officers, volunteers and learners for their efforts in taking education to communities across J&K."With deep honour, I declare that Jammu & Kashmir has achieved the noble distinction of becoming a Fully Literate Union Territory, recording an outstanding literacy rate of 98.43% under the ULLAS -NBSK," Itoo said.She also thanked Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his leadership and support in strengthening education.Itoo said the achievement marks ...
