Srinagar, April 20 -- The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Jammu and Kashmir has received 23,798 complaints over the past six years but registered only 534 FIRs, according to RTI data. Out of 214 cases decided, only 27 resulted in convictions, while 72 led to acquittals and 115 were not proved.The data also shows 267 public servants were arrested, including 20 gazetted officers, and over Rs.1.22 crore in bribe money was recovered through 208 trap cases.Several regional ACB units reported varying outcomes, with some recording convictions while others had none.Officials said cases undergo strict scrutiny before registration, while activists noted the gap between complaints and convictions highlights systemic challenges.
