Srinagar, April 25, April 26 -- The government on Saturday notified the terms and conditions of service of State Election Commissioner Shantmanu. According to the order, the appointment has been made under Section 36A of the Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj Act, 1989, read in conjunction with a prior notification dated February 17, 2026.Shantmanu will hold office for a term of five years from the date he assumes charge or until he reaches the age of 67, whichever is earlier.
