Shopian, Mar 4, March 5 -- Continuing its drive against illegal mining, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday seized four tractors allegedly involved in the unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals in Berthipora and Takwan areas of south Kashmir's Shopian district. Officials said a police party from Police Post Berthipora intercepted two tractors during routine patrolling that were engaged in illegal mining without the required permissions. In this connection, FIR No. 09/2026 under relevant provisions of law has been registered at Police Station Keller and investigation has been initiated.In a separate action, police from Police Station Keller seized two more tractors found transporting minerals illegally.
