Srinagar, May 11, May 12 -- A Darul Uloom seminary suffered damage in a fire incident at Iqbal Colony Naik Bagh area of Nowgam in Srinagar on Monday, officials said. According to locals, the fire broke out in the upper storey of the seminary namely 'Darul Uloom Imdadiya' building, triggering panic in the congested locality as flames and smoke engulfed a portion of the structure.Students present inside the Darul Uloom were safely evacuated after the fire erupted, while locals and seminary staff initially attempted to control the flames before the arrival of firefighting teams.Officials said multiple fire tenders rushed to the spot and launched an operation to douse the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby residential structures in...
