Srinagar, July 27, July 28 -- Srinagar Sector CRPF celebrated 88th Raising Day of CRPF with enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at Group Centre, CRPF, Srinagar. The Sector and all units/offices, deployed across Srinagar, Budgam&Ganderbal districts, also celebrated the nationwide observances marking 88 years of service, courage, and sacrifice. Raised on 27 July 1939 as the Crown Representative's Police at Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh, the Force was rechristened the CRPF after Independence under the CRPF Act of 1949.
