Srinagar, Sep 26, Sept. 27 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Casual Daily Wagers Forum (JKCDF) on Saturday announced an Assembly gherao on Monday to press for regularisation of casual and daily-rated workers. Addressing a press conference here, JKCDF president Sajad Ahmed Parray said over 60,000 workers were awaiting regularisation and questioned the delay in the report of a government-appointed committee tasked with preparing a roadmap on the issue.He said the committee was initially given six months to submit its recommendations and workers were assured that regularisation would be taken up during the current financial year.However, he said, 18 months later, the government had indicated there was no timeline for regularisation.He said the issue ...
