Uri, May 10, May 11 -- A wild black bear was successfully captured by the Wildlife Department in Noorkha village of Uri area in Baramulla district, bringing relief to residents who had been living in fear following repeated sightings of the animal in the locality. Officials said the operation was carried out after locals reported movement of the bear in and around residential areas, prompting immediate action by the Wildlife Department team.
