Assam Rifles seize Rs.11.30 Cr drugs
Kohima, Oct 10, Oct. 11 -- Assam Rifles, under Spear Corps, seized contraband worth over Rs.11.30 crore in separate operations in Tripura and Mizoram, dealing a significant blow to drug trafficking networks in the Northeast. In Tripura, Assam Rifles troops, in coordination with the Customs Department, intercepted and seized 501 kg of cannabis valued at approximately Rs.2.50 crore in Khowai district.In a separate operation in Mizoram, Assam Rifles recovered 11 kg of methamphetamine tablets worth approximately Rs.8.80 crore in Champhai district.The seizures highlight the continued efforts of Assam Rifles and other agencies to curb the smuggling of narcotics and disrupt networks involved in the illegal drug trade.
