Maram , Sep 9, Sept. 11 -- Assam Rifles paid solemn homage to braveheart Havildar (Late) Dayal Singh at Maram in Manipur on Wednesday, commemorating his supreme sacrifice with a wreath-laying ceremony.The ceremony was held to honour the courage, valour and devotion to duty of Havildar Dayal Singh, who made the supreme sacrifice while fighting insurgents during an operation at Joupi, Manipur, on September 9, 2006.Personnel of Assam Rifles gathered to remember the fallen soldier and pay their respects to his service and sacrifice.
