Imphal, Aug 7, Aug. 8 -- Assam Rifles paid solemn tribute to Rifleman (Late) Kul Bahadur Gurung, who made the supreme sacrifice on August 6, 1966, while valiantly fighting Chinese forces in NEFA, during a commemorative ceremony held at the Unit Memorial, Veng, Manipur. The solemn event marked the 60th anniversary of Rifleman Gurung's martyrdom and honoured his courage, dedication and sacrifice in the line of duty.The commemoration featured a wreath-laying ceremony and Guard of Honour, followed by a tribute to the fallen soldier and his exemplary gallantry.
