Shillong, May 1, May 2 -- A dignified Samman Samaroh was held at Headquarters Directorate General Assam Rifles (DGAR), Laitkor, Shillong, where Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of the Assam Rifles, felicitated retiring personnel for their dedicated service to the nation. The ceremony recognised a total of 147 personnel, including 01 officer, 62 Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs), 81 Other Ranks, and 03 civil staff members, who superannuated on 01 May 2026 after years of selfless service.The event was attended by 78 family members who had travelled from different parts of the country, adding a personal and emotional dimension to the farewell ceremony.
