Imphal, Aug 27, Aug. 28 -- Director General Assam Rifles Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, visited an Assam Rifles battalion at Veng in Churachandpur, Manipur, on Thursday and reviewed its operational preparedness, deployment and ongoing activities. Lt Gen Lakhera was accompanied by Maj Gen Gaurav Sharma, SC, SM, Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) during the visit.The Director General was briefed by the battalion Commandant on the prevailing operational situation, deployment pattern, preparedness and various activities being undertaken by the unit.
