Aizawl, July 13, July 14 -- In a major blow to drug trafficking networks operating along the Indo-Myanmar border, Assam Rifles, in a joint operation with the Excise & Narcotics Department, recovered 63.6 grams of Heroin No. 4 valued at approximately Rs.47.7 lakh from a suspected vehicle in Zote area of Champhai district, Mizoram. The operation, conducted on July 10 based on specific intelligence inputs, targeted a vehicle suspected of being used for transporting narcotic substances. During the search, the joint team recovered the contraband concealed inside the vehicle.Four individuals allegedly involved in the smuggling racket were apprehended during the operation.
