Srinagar, Oct 21, Oct. 21 -- The All India Medical Students' Association (AIMSA) has called off the strike by MBBS and BDS interns across Jammu and Kashmir following the government's formal approval of the long-pending stipend hike. The decision comes after the Jammu and Kashmir Government issued an order increasing the monthly stipend for MBBS and BDS interns, including Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs), from Rs 12,300 to Rs 25,000, effective October 1, 2026. AIMSA expressed gratitude to political leaders, bureaucrats and others who supported the interns during their agitation for an increase in monthly remuneration.
