Srinagar, Aug. 20 -- US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor's description of Jammu and Kashmir as an "important part of India" during his maiden visit to Srinagar is more than a diplomatic remark. It carries significance because Kashmir has long been at the centre of competing narratives, international commentary and geopolitical contestation.
