7,656 Rohingyas, 504 Bangladeshi Nationals Identified Across J&K: Government
Jammu, August 19, Aug. 19 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Government has informed the High-Level Committee on Demographic Change that 7,656 Rohingyas and 504 Bangladeshi nationals have been identified across the Union Territory's 20 districts. The figures were presented before members of the committee during their field visit to Jammu. Officials also highlighted security concerns related to the presence of foreign nationals, particularly in areas located near the international borders. According to the government data, 6,737 of the identified Rohingyas are residing across the 10 districts of Jammu division, while 919 have been identified in the 10 districts of the Kashmir Valley.
