'87 JKAS officers charge-sheeted in corruption cases'
Srinagar,, Sept. 19 -- As many as 87 Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) officers were charge-sheeted before competent courts in corruption-related cases between January 1, 2019 and July 16, 2026, according to information provided by the Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) under the Right to Information Act. The figure, however, does not mean 87 FIRs. The ACB's response does not provide a consolidated breakdown of individual FIRs or the final outcomes of the charge-sheets, including convictions, acquittals, closures or cases pending before courts.The data comes amid a continuing stream of corruption-related investigations involving officials across various departments.
