Tim Modise's 30-year media legacy earns NWU honorary doctorate
South Africa, Oct. 8 -- The honorary doctorate will be conferred during a special ceremony at the NWU's Mahikeng Campus on Thursday, 22 October 2026.
Modise is regarded as one of South Africa's pioneering broadcasters, having built a career across radio and television while documenting the country's transition from apartheid to democracy.
His broadcasting career began at Radio 702, where he worked as a sound technician before moving into music DJing and subsequently radio presenting, news and current affairs journalism and political broadcasting.
