South Africa, Oct. 27 -- From Script to Screen with AI is run by Akuna Learning, part of The Akuna Group chaired by actor Idris Elba, in collaboration with Google. The programme is supported by $1m in funding from Google.org, with its curriculum developed by AI filmmaking training company Curious Refuge.

Applications close on 15 November 2026. The programme is open to applicants in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and South Africa, with no film school qualification or prior AI experience required.
