The problem we've normalised
In our industry, we've normalised a costly pattern. Clients debate tone for weeks. Decks are refined repeatedly. Scripts are approved in principle. Then the shoot begins - and it becomes obvious that everyone was picturing a slightly different film.
We tend to blame personalities. The "difficult" client. The "unclear" brief. The "moving" target. But most pre-production friction isn't emotional. It's structural.
