IBMs $10 Billion Quantum Push Could Redefine the Future of Computing
New Delhi, June 1 -- IBM has announced one of the most ambitious quantum computing investments to date, committing more than $10 billion over the next five years to accelerate the development of a large-scale, fault-tolerant quantum computer by 2029.
The move signals IBM's intent to remain at the front of the global quantum computing race, where technology leaders are working to solve one of the industry's biggest challenges: building machines that can perform complex calculations reliably and without errors. Unlike today's experimental quantum systems, a fault-tolerant quantum computer would be designed to correct errors during computation, making it far more useful for real-world scientific and industrial applications.
