India, Aug. 25 -- Bengaluru-based Remidio Innovative Solutions has been granted US Patent for a 3D eye imaging technology built around a wearable form factor, smart glasses or a VR-style headset in place of a bulky slit lamp or ophthalmoscope.

The device folds more than five separate exams into one. Slit lamp imaging, fundus imaging, and diffused anterior segment imaging, among others, are normally done on separate instruments, this design does all of them, and it can capture images of the eye without pupil dilation, using infrared illumination in place of the bright visible light conventional instruments rely on for a clear view of the back of the eye.
