India, Sept. 18 -- NM Medical has announced the launch of Mumbai's first Open Standing MRI machine. The new facility is now operational at NM Medical's center at Marine Lines, Mumbai.

Conventional closed MRI machines require patients to lie still inside a narrow tunnel. This Open Standing MRI allows imaging in sitting, standing, and lying positions instead. This helps radiologists assess the spine, joints, and musculoskeletal system under natural, weight bearing conditions, in the same postures where many patients usually feel pain.

It is especially suited for patients with claustrophobia or anxiety, elderly patients, patients with mobility challenges, and those who find conventional scanners restrictive. Capturing images while the body...
