India, Oct. 14 -- BPL Medical Technologies has acquired a majority shareholding in Medec, a European medical technology company, in a strategic technology acquisition that strengthens the company's growth trajectory and advances its ambition to build a globally competitive medical technology organisation.

The acquisition marks an important step in BPL Medical Technologies' strategy to strengthen its ownership of technology and product development capabilities while expanding its global presence. Medec brings advanced anaesthesia workstations and ventilators, along with three patents and a product development pipeline that includes an electronic vaporiser and a value engineered version of the Caelus anaesthesia workstation.
