Singapore becomes first ASEAN market to subsidise vutrisiran for transthyretin amyloidosis
Singapore, Sept. 2 -- Singapore has become the first ASEAN country to provide government subsidies for eligible patients receiving vutrisiran for transthyretin amyloidosis.
From 1 September 2026, vutrisiran has been recommended for inclusion under Singapore's Medication Assistance Fund for eligible patients with stage 1 or 2 hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis with polyneuropathy and transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy.
Eligible patients may receive subsidies of up to 75%, improving access to the therapy through Singapore's public healthcare system.
Transthyretin amyloidosis is a progressive disease caused by the accumulation of abnormal transthyretin protein deposits in tissues and organs.
