Singapore, Oct. 8 -- Japan-based Shionogi & Co. is entering into an agreement to acquire IntraBio Inc, a biopharmaceutical company developing and commercialising therapies for neurodegenerative diseases.

Pursuant to the agreement, which was signed by the parties, IntraBio would become a wholly owned subsidiary of Shionogi Inc., a New Jersey-based subsidiary of Shionogi.

The proposed transaction, which is subject to customary closing conditions, would add AQNEURSA(R) (levacetylleucine) and IntraBio's capabilities in the rare disease area to Shionogi's growing portfolio.
