Dhaka, March 8 -- Dr Zubaida Rahman has expressed her hopes for a "safe Bangladesh" for all women and girls.

The wife of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman shared her thoughts at a discussion meeting on the occasion of the International Women's Day on Sunday.

She said, "There's a popular saying by the United Nations. When women make progress, the nation makes progress."

''In Sha Allah, Bangladesh will be a country where every woman and girl will have a safe, dignified and bright future."

Zubaida greeted all women in the country on the occasion of the International Women's Day.
