Dhaka, March 23 -- A woman has been killed and at least 10 others injured during a clash and gunfire between supporters of two factions of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party in Pabna's Sujanagar Upazila.

The incident took place at 8:30am on Monday in Vitbila Paschimpara village under Manikhat Union, said Assistant Superintendent of Police Sadiq Ahmed.

The deceased was identified as China Khatun, 40, wife of Shukur Ali, a resident of the village.

Police, quoting locals, said a longstanding dispute existed between supporters of BNP leader Islam Pramanik and Rafiqul Islam Raja, a former president of Hatkhali Union unit of Chhatra Dal.
