Dhaka, July 3 -- A woman has been found dead inside her flat in Savar on the outskirts of Dhaka, with police suspecting she was raped before being strangled.

Police recovered the body from a third-floor flat near Hajinagar of Boro Deshi on Thursday night, said Sub-Inspector Zakir Al Hossain of the Amin Bazar police outpost.

The victim was identified as 35-year-old Sharmin Akter Liza, daughter of Shawkat Hossain of Aganagar village under Keraniganj Model Police Station.

She lived in the rented flat with her daughter and worked in the marketing department of a cosmetics company in the capital.
