Dhaka, April 25 -- A woman has allegedly been gang-raped twice by two groups of people in Mymensingh's Nandail Upazila, with her child "tortured" during the first round.

Nandail Police chief Azharul Islam said they rescued her from a village on Saturday afternoon. She is now in their custody.

During primary interrogation, the woman revealed that four men first took turns violating her five days ago in Shimultali near the Nandail-Tarail road.

The child was injured in the left eye at that time, she recounted, adding that another two men took her to a nearby house, where they raped her.

She lost her way while travelling to her in-law's house in Bhaluka Upazila from her father's residence in Mymensingh town on Apr 19.
