Dhaka, Oct. 15 -- A Dhaka court will rule on Thursday in the case of Syed Sohanur Rahman Siam, the former leader of the banned organisation Chhatra League, who stands accused of acquiring illegal wealth.

Dhaka Divisional Special Judge BM Tariqul Kabir will deliver the verdict, said Ariful Islam, the court's bench assistant.

Siam is the son of Syed Abed Ali Jibon, the driver of the former Public Service Commission (PSC) chairman, who is accused in a question paper leak case involving the civil service. Siam was once the relief and disaster management secretary of the Dhaka Metropolitan North Chhatra League. However, he was dismissed from his post in July 2024 on charges of involvement in question paper leak.
